TAITE

Kwe' | Hello! I’m Taite Wooldridge (he/him). I come from a long line of hereditary and elected Chiefs. I'm a proud Mi’kmaq and member of Abegweit First Nation. I am a grass dancer, singer and dancer with the Mi’kmaq Heritage Actors. In past years, I was chosen as Head Dancer and Junior Head Dancer for Mawiomi’s across Epekwitk. I have participated in 100s of performances with Hubert Francis, Lennie Gallant and Julie Pellissier Lush. I performed at the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2023 Canada Winter Games, as well as the opening ceremonies for the 2023 North American Indigenous Games.

I am passionate about sharing my culture,  protecting rights of everyone, amplifying marginalized voices, and promoting inclusion and equity.

And I want to ensure children and teens are safe and healthy and I believe the top priority right now is ensuring a safe education and home environment.
